🇨🇳🌍 SHANGHAI SCHOOLS BECOME INTERNATIONAL FOR A DAY
Today, 22 September, Shanghai is hosting an unusual youth exchange as part of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. Participants in the WorldSkills competition are heading not only to compete: more than 1400 young contestants from dozens of countries and regions are visiting 62 the city’s schools under the program One School One Member.
The idea is simple: each school is given the opportunity to meet participants from another country or region. Instead of a formal tour, there are meetings with school students, conversations about life and education, joint activities, and an opportunity to learn about one another’s cultures.
The championship itself brings together young specialists in Shanghai who compete in 64 professional skills — ranging from engineering and digital technologies to design and services.
What interests me here is the concept itself: an international competition is also being transformed into a citywide educational exchange. The international participant comes not only for a medal—they enter an ordinary school and become a living introduction to another country for local students.
🌏 It becomes another form of modern diplomacy: not an embassy → or ministry, but a school → a young person → a school.
I invite everyone to the channel.
Here we analyze the present and forecast the future.
