YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ARE BEING TAUGHT DIPLOMACY THROUGH CULTURE

🇸🇦 YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ARE BEING TAUGHT DIPLOMACY THROUGH CULTURE

3 September 2026 in Jeddah, at the headquarters of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, an international youth program was launched «Cultural Diplomacy and Leadership Development”.

Its launch was timed to coincide with OIC Youth Day, which is celebrated annually on September 3.

Future leaders are being taught to build international relations not only through official negotiations, but also through culture, dialogue, education, and understanding people from other countries.

OIC bodies and partner organizations are participating in the program, while the initiative itself brings together experts and young representatives from countries of the Islamic world.

The scale here is significant: the OIC brings together 57 states, while young people make up more than 28 % of the population of the organization’s countries.

🌍 For the Middle East, this is a particularly interesting signal. In a region too often associated with conflict, the new generation is being taught a completely different approach—to build bridges between societies and seek common ground through culture.

It seems that the diplomacy of the future is increasingly beginning not behind closed doors, but with getting to know another language, way of life, and view of the world.
